Some people collect stamps. Some people birdwatch. Me.. I have hobby Internet radio stations that serve as my creative outlet. This one is a homage to a genre of music that was sadly reduced to a “Format of the Month” fad at many stations across the country – Jammin Oldies. Soul, Motown, Disco and Old School (along with other great party tunes) play 24/7 on this station. Where else you gonna hear soul staples like “Superfly” and forgotten soul classics like “Jealous Kind Of Fella” by Garland Green?
Special thanks to Russ “Famous Amos” DiBello, Anita Bonita, and Mike Erickson for…well..everything.

Hi
my name is Wim and i’m living in Belgium
Radio is my hobby (and i used to have a webradio too) so i’m always looking for something different and cool.
i discovered Jammin 105 a few weeks ago and i have to say…
your station rocks big time!!
I’m listening via Tunein…the sound is great, i’m listening in my car, home etc..
The coolest thing about it….i’m not always hearing the same songs.
I don’t know how many tracks you have on your radiostation but it’s seems more than the usual 4000 tracks on any other station.
i think Jammin’ Oldies could have lasted longer than it did however there were two problems.
1. The playlist was to limited. The same songs repeated to often.
2. Those who put the format together didn’t promote it off the air.
You have to get the audience excited about any format and you should start doing this a few days before it goes on the air.
They could have run a campaign in New York and other cities where Jammin’ Oldies was heard saying tune in on whatever date for an exciting announcement or event and take it from there.
They also should have had a party and broadcast it live on day one.
It was a great concept and if they had done it right, it would have lasted longer than it did.
